Discreet Smile wires the field in the Fiesta Mile Stakes

Daughter of Discreet Cat never threatened on the way to earning her first Stakes win

Discreet Smile took the lead right out of the starting gate and never looked back as she cruised to a three-quarter length victory in the Fiesta Mile Stakes at Retama Park Sept. 6.

The Fiesta Mile was the first Stakes win for the three-year-old daughter of Discreet Cat, who now has hit the board in eight of 11 career starts.

Discreet Smile was bred in Texas by her owner, Sylvia Baird. She is out of the multiple Stakes-winning mare, Smiles Golden Song, a two-time winner of the Fiesta Mile Stakes during her racing career.

Discreet Cat is the sire of 32 Stakes winners. In addition to Discreet Smile, Discreet Cat is the sire of Secret Spice, winner of the G1 Beholder Mile; Trenchtown Cat, winner of the Sanibel Island and Ana T. Stakes; and Discreet Angel, a two-time Champion in Puerto Rico.
