Yellow Rose Stakes goes to Ima Discreet Lady for fourth straight year

Daughter of Discreet Cat once again shines at Sam Houston Race Park

Ima Discreet Lady split rivals in the stretch and drew off to post a two-and-a-quarter length victory in the six furlong Yellow Rose Stakes at Sam Houston Race Park on Saturday, 25 March.

The hard-knocking daughter of Discreet Cat is now an eight-time Stakes winner, which includes four straight editions of the Yellow Rose.

Ima Discreet Lady sat off the pace in sixth, only about three lengths off the leaders as she raced to the outside of her rivals. Making her bid on the far turn, Ima Discreet Lady overhauled the leaders in the stretch and cruised to an open-length victory.

Ima Discreet Lady was bred in Texas by Larry S. Huntsinger and races for Todd R. White and Duane Coker. Ima Discreet Lady is out of Ima Three Blinger, a multiple Stakes-placed daughter of Too Much Bling. Ima Three Blinger has also produced the promising Ima Sky Traveler, a Stakes-placed four-year-old filly by Sky Mesa.

Discreet Cat is the sire of 36 Stakes winners. In addition to Ima Discreet Lady the stallion has sired Secret Spice, winner of the G1 Beholder Mile; Trenchtown Cat, winner of the Sanibel Island and Ana T. Stakes and Discreet Angel, a two-time Champion in Puerto Rico.
