Three winners for Deep Sky

Arbre is successful at Kokura to become the latest winner for his first-season sire

Deep Sky has made a promising start with his first crop of runners and on 31 August, he recorded his third individual winner when Arbre won at Kokura.

He landed the 1800m maiden on the turf impressively by a length and a quarter, with the third-placed horses a full four lengths further back.

Owned and bred by Katsumi Yoshizawa, Arbre is the first foal to race out of the Cherokee Run mare Hey Honey, herself a granddaughter of G1 winner and G1 Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe third Awaasif. They are from the family of the great Lammtarra – winner of the Arc, the King George and the English Derby.

Deep Sky, the Champion three-year-old whose first yearlings sold for up to 25 million yen last year, is also sire of fellow JRA winner Earth Wind.
