Deep Sky filly wins at Hanshin

Curren Cotillard breaks her maiden over 1400m

First-season stallion Deep Sky sired his fifth JRA winner on Saturday December 14 when his daughter Curren Cotillard broke her maiden at Hanshin. Trained by Takashi Suzuki, she won by two lengths in the 1400m dirt contest.

Bred by Sweet Farm, she is out of the Stakes-winning mare Tashiro Spring, winner of the KBS Kyoto Sho Fantasy Stakes as a juvenile. Curren Cotillard was Tashiro Spring's fifth winner and she also has a yearling colt by another Darley first-season stallion in Pyro.

Deep Sky, the imposing son of Agnes Tachyon, Sunday Silence's exceptional champion sire son, has now sired six winners including Ultimatum, who beat 15 rivals on his debut at Kyoto and fellow JRA scorers Deep Mitaka, Earth Wind and Arbre.
