Silverette golden in third Stakes win of 2013

Street Sense's daughter adds to her sire's exciting weekend

Less than 24 hours after his daughter, Sweet Reason, scored in the G1 Spinaway at Saratoga, another daughter, Silverette, showed her mettle in winning the Turf Amazon Handicap at Parx Racing.

In scoring her third Stakes win of 2013, Sweet Reason once again settled off the pace and then took aim at the leaders as the field rounded for home. She did have to put away a stubborn front runner but got the job done and pulled away nearing the wire.

A $290,000 yearling, Silverette was bred by Grousemont Farm in Kentucky and is out of Holy Lightning, who has also produced millionaire and Graded Stakes winner Going Ballistic. Silverette's second dam is Stakes winner Blazing Hot.

Street Sense is also the sire of a total of 17 Stakes performers in 2013 - six Graded winners - including other G1 winner Aubby K. Street Sense currently tops North America's third crop sire list with over $4 million in progeny earnings this year.
