Runaway in the G1 Spinaway

Street Sense's Sweet Reason romps home by six lengths at Saratoga
Once again, the nation's premier venue for showcasing young two-year-olds brought out the best fillies for the G1 Spinaway. And from the result, it looks like a star might have been born at Saratoga in the form of Street Sense's Sweet Reason.

After just breaking her maiden last month, the crowd saw enough in that effort to make her one of the race's favorites at post time. After tracking in mid-pack early on, Sweet Reason made her move at the top of the stretch and widened her lead to about six lengths at the wire.

Bred in partnership by Darley, and Brent and Beth Harris, Sweet Reason is out of the Stakes-placed Mt. Livermore mare Livermore Leslie, also the dam of G3 winner and G1-placed Don't Forget Gil.

Street Sense is also the sire of five other Graded winners in 2013, including other G1 winner Aubby K. Street Sense currently tops North America's third crop sire list with over $4 million in progeny earnings this year.
