Fleet Street wins G3 Elm Stakes in record time

Street Sense’s son records his first Group win in style at Hakodate

Fleet Street, a four-year-old son of Street Sense, recorded his first Group win on 24 August, landing the 1700m G3 Elm Stakes in record time at Hakodate.

This was the sixth career victory for the Darley homebred and his second at Black type level, as he won the Listed Hyacinth Stakes at Tokyo last February.

Fleet Street is out of the winning Singspiel mare Jenny Lind, a full sister to G3 winner and G2 UAE Derby second Songlark. He is from the family of this year’s English 1,000 Guineas and G1 Coronation Stakes winner Sky Lantern.

Street Sense, who is himself a son of top sire Street Cry, was the first horse ever to win the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile and Kentucky Derby. He has been enjoying an outstanding year in 2013, siring eight individual Stakes winners and a further six horses who have been placed at Stakes level.
