Sensible Lady repeats in The Very One Stakes at Pimlico

Street Sense filly wins on the Pimlico turf

A winner of the event in 2012, Street Sense's four-year-old daughter Sensible Lady repeated in The Very One Stakes at Pimlico May 17. In the five-furlong turf race Sensible Lady stayed near the back of the pack. Turning for home the filly slipped along the inside before ducking between foes and taking the win in the final strides. She is a perfect three-for-three over the Pimlico lawn.

Five-time Stakes winner Sensible Lady is the first foal for her dam Awesome Lady, a multiple Stakes winner and Graded-placed mare by Bianconi. She was bred in Kentucky by Spendthrift Farm, LLC.

As a sire Street Sense is having a tremendous year with Graded Stakes winners Unlimited Budget, Ice Cream Silence, and Cigar Street, as well as the talented G1-winning filly Aubby K. A sire of six Graded Stakes winners to date, Street Sense was the only horse to complete the Breeders' Cup Juvenile/Kentucky Derby double.
