Impressive new winners for Storming Home

Empire Storm leads all the way to land the G3 Hannoversche Meile in Germany; Teehaff wins at Hanshin

Storming Home, who stands at Darley in Japan, recorded a new Group winner on 24 June when his son Empire Storm made all to win the G3 Hannoversche Meile, run over a mile at Hannover in Germany.

Sent straight to the front, the five-year-old entire travelled superbly throughout the race and moved clear of his rivals in the home straight, stretching to a three-and-a-half length victory.

This was the third career win for Empire Storm, who has been placed in all but two of his 18 starts.

Bred in Germany by Hannes K Gutschow, Empire Storm is out of the winning El Gran Senor mare Emy Coasting, who is also granddam of two G1 winners in Earl Of Tindsal and Earlsalsa.

A day earlier, Storming Home's Japan-bred son Teehaff broke his maiden in the best possible style, winning the 1200m newcomer's race at Hanshin by an impressive four lengths from Kanoya Venture, with the third-placed horse a further seven lengths further back.

Bred by Darley Japan KK and running in the colours of HH Sheikh Mohammed, Teehaff is out of the winning Green Desert mare Birjand - already producer of a G1 winner in Luck Or Design (Dubawi). She is also dam of Sudden Storm (a full brother to Teehaff), who has twice been placed at Group level this year.

Storming Home is also sire of G1-winning duo Jakkalberry and Lion Tamer.
