Jakkalberry salutes in the G2 Dubai City Of Gold

Son of Storming Home records his fifth Stakes win

Jakkalberry has been a superb flagbearer for his sire, winning Stakes races in every year he has raced including the G1 Gran Premio di Milano. He has also been placed in the Melbourne Cup and the Dubai Sheema Classic and the Marco Botti-trained entire recorded his fifth Stakes win at Meydan on Saturday, landing the G2 Dubai City Of Gold.

Settled off the pace in a very slowly-run opening half-mile, Jakkalberry was one of the first to make his move and battled superbly down the home straight to win by half a length and record his 11th career win.

Bred by Azienda Agricola Allevamento Deni, Jakkalberry is out of the Barathea mare Claba Di San Jore – also dam of another G1 winner in Shamardal’s Crackerjack King.

Storming Home stands at Darley in Japan at a fee of 1.5 million yen.
