Aubby K much more than O-K

Daughter of Street Sense impressive in G2 win

Street Sense’s 2012 G1-placed daughter, Aubby K, had not been to the starting gate since the end of August of last year prior to the G2 Information Stakes on March 7. It seems the break did her well as she came away an impressive winner, taking the seven-furlong event at Gulfstream Park for her first career Graded win.

Aubby K broke very alertly for jockey Edgar Prado and settled into second-place going into the first quarter mile. She maintained that position until the field turned for home when she then took the lead and never relinquished it. Her margin at the finish had widened to three lengths.

Aubby K, bred by James C. Spence in Kentucky, is out of G3 winner Lily Capote, also the dam of G2-placed horses Flying Pegasus and Mythical Pegasus as well as Stakes-placed America’s Storm.

Kentucky Derby winner Street Sense is also the sire of 2102 G2 winner/2013 G3 winner Unlimited Budget, a three-year-old filly who is currently on track for a start in this year’s G1 Kentucky Oaks the day before the Kentucky Derby.  Street Sense was also represented by 2012 Graded winners Castaway and Motor City.

Street Sense stands at Darley in Japan at a fee of 4.5 million yen.
