Second Group victory for son of Pyro

Meisho Hario leads home a 1-2 for his sire in the G3 March Stakes

Meisho Hario, a son of Pyro, produced a thrilling late run to land his second G3 in the March Stakes over 1800m at Nakayama. The winner of the Miyako Stakes last season, the Inao Okada-trained five-year-old showed a devastating turn of pace to overall his paternal half-brother Kenshinko near the line, the pair three-and-a-half lengths clear.

Bred by Mashima Bokujo, Meisho Hario is a half-brother to two winners including G3 winner T O Royal. His dam, Meisho Ohi (Manhattan Cafe), is a half-sister to Stakes performer Meisho Kadomatsu and from the family of Champion juvenile filly Yamanin Paradise.

Pyro, who is standing this season at 3 million yen, is one of Japan’s preeminent dirt stallions. This year he has sired 48 winners on this surface, second only to Lord Kanaloa.
