Darley Japan announces stud fees for 2011

Darley have announced the fees for its nine stallions that will stand in Japan for the 2011 breeding season.

Leading sire Commands (pictured) will return to Japan following another very successful season in Australia where his sons Erewhon and Skilled took his total of G1 winners to six. The son of Danehill continues to prove himself a truly top class stallion and he is currently leading sire in Australia by number of Stakes winners.

Storming Home has enjoyed a truly outstanding year, siring two international G1 winners. Jakkalberry was victorious in the G1 Gran Premio di Milano and is officially the best racehorse in Italy, while Lion Tamer was very impressive when winning the G1 Victoria Derby in Australia by six and a half lengths. Storming Home is also the leading second-crop sire in Australia.

Shane Horan, Darley's Director of Stallion Operations, said, "We are very conscious that these are difficult times for breeders and are very grateful for their ongoing support. We believe our 2011 roster offers tremendous quality and value, having lowered the stud fees for five of our stallions.

Along with our live foal terms and the filly deal - all further evidence of our wish to make a positive contribution to the Japanese breeding and racing industry - we believe it has never been a better time to breed to a Darley stallion and look forward to discussing nominations with breeders in the coming months."
