Narukami strikes again

Son of Thunder Snow lands the Japan Dirt Classic at Oi

Narukami, a three-year-old son of Thunder Snow, continued his progression on Wednesday, 8 October when landing the Listed Japan Dirt Classic (JPN G1). Run over ten furlongs at Oi, he made all the running in the final leg of the Japanese Dirt Triple Crown to win easily.

Narukami now has the brilliant record of five wins from six starts and was backing up his victory in the Kozukata Sho (JPN G2) on his previous start.

Owned by Godolphin and bred by Darley Japan, Narukami is the first foal out of the winning Deep Impact mare Omnipresence, who herself is out of a half-sister to G1 winner World Premiere

Thunder Snow has sired a very respectable 135 winners from 225 runners, including Stakes winner Tenka Jo, who has landed three Listed races including the Empress Hai this season. He also has a number of multiple JRA winners among his notable performers, such as G Cyclone, Cafe Nix and T O Ruby
