Weekend double for Admire Moon

Leo Active and Exoplanet both break their Maidens

Admire Moon sired his second and third winners, and his first at JRA courses, on Sunday July 3 when his son Leo Active won a 1200m Maiden at Nakayama and daughter Exoplanet won easily on debut at Hakodate.

First to salute the judge was Leo Active, who was making his second start after a promising third at Nakayama, and he ran out an easy two-and-a-half length winner. Soon followed Exoplanet at Hakodate, and she won a 1200m Newcomers race by one-and-a-half lengths. Both victories were on turf.

Bred by Taniguchi Bokujo, Leo Active he is out of the winning Opera House dam, Leo Soeil, herself a half-sister to the multiple Stakes-winner, Breaktime.

Exoplanet was bred by Northern Racing and is a half-sister to two Stakes winners in England in Shot To Fame and Spinola, and out of the winning Deposit Ticket mare Exocet. She is from the family of Darley Japan stallion Alkaased.

Admire Moon, who stands at Darley Japan for 3.5 million yen, has now sired three first-crop winners. The Japanese horse of the year, he was the victor of three G1 races including the Japan Cup and Dubai Duty Free in Dubai.
