Third Group victory for Hakusan Moon

Son of Admire Moon lands G2 Centaur Stakes

Four-year-old colt Hakusan Moon has been a magnificent campaigner for his sire Admire Moon, and on 8 September he recorded his third victory at Group level when taking the G2 Centaur Stakes, run over 1200m at Hanshin.

Despite being slowly away, Hakusan Moon soon found his stride and quickly took the lead. Quickening well 200m from home, he was hard pressed by Lord Kanaloa in the closing stages but battled impressively to win by a neck. This was his seventh career victory, and he was third in the G1 Takamatsunomiya Kinen earlier this year.

Bred by Shirai Stud Farm, Hakusan Moon is the best foal to date out of the winning mare Ciliege.

Admire Moon has now sired six Black type performers this year and a further 50 individual winners. He is also sire of fellow G2 winner and G1 performer Leo Active, plus Group winner Fine Choice.
