Third G1 win for Jantar Mantar

Son of Palace Malice lands Yasuda Kinen at Tokyo

Jantar Mantar, a four-year-old son of Palace Malice, returned to the winners enclosure on Sunday, 8 June with victory in the G1 Yasuda Kinen. Run over 1600m at Tokyo, he quickened clear in the final 400m to record an easy one-and-a-half length win.

He has now won a G1 in each of his three seasons to race after the Asahi Hai Futurity Stakes as a juvenile and the NHK Mile Cup last year.

Owned and bred by Shadai, Jantar Mantar is the first foal bred out of the US G3 winner India Mantuana (Wilburn).

Palace Malice, who is standing this season at 3.5 million yen, won the G1 Belmont Stakes by over three lengths and the G1 Metropolitan Handicap at four. He is the sire of 15 Stakes winners including Mink’s Palace and Palacein earlier in 2025.
