Six for Admire Moon

Lorbeerkranz breaks Maiden at Niigata

Darley Japan stallion Admire Moon sired his sixth individual winner when his son Lorbeerkranz broke his Maiden over 1200m at Niigata. Racing for the second time after a debut second over the same course, he was always close to the pace set by Yoshiru Princess before overhauling that rival in the straight to win by a neck. Bred by Tomina Bokujo, he is out of the Dancing Brave mare Alphecca.

With his six winners, first-season sire Admire Moon is the leading sire of juveniles in Japan this season with earnings in excess of 80 million yen. His flag-bearer so far is the unbeaten G3-winner Fine Choice, alongside the Stakes-placed Leo Active and a pair of unbeaten fillies, Exoplanet and Golden Moon.
