Seiun Kosei sparkles at Hakodate

G1-winning son of Admire Moon takes the G3 Hakodate Sprint

Seiun Kosei, a five-year-old son of Admire Moon, landed his third Stakes race on Sunday, 17 June when gamely taking the G3 Hakodate Sprint Stakes. The winner of the G1 Takamatsunomiya Kinen back in March last season, he gamely repelled Hiruno Devaro to take his career earnings to over 250,000,000 Yen.

Bred by Sakurai Bokujo, he is a son of the Capote mare Observant, who is a half-sister to Stakes winners Taiki Fortune and Taiki Dia and from the family of G1 NHK Mile hero Clarity Sky.

Admire Moon enjoyed his best ever year in 2017. With an average earnings index of two on turf he was only beaten by other leading stallions King Kamehameha and Deep Impact. This season he has sired the G1-winner Fine Needle, and Group winners Moonquake and Black Moon.
