Second Stakes winner on the day for King's Best

Rich Coast takes the Listed Navigation Stakes in Ireland

Following on from Royal Diamond's triumph earlier in the day, another son of King's Best trained by Johnny Murtagh made the headlines as Rich Coast landed the Navigation Stakes in Ireland by a length-and-a-quarter. After starting his formative years in France in the care of Pascal Bary, he was purchased by current connections for 120,000gns last October and today was recording his third victory of the campaign.

Bred by Millsec Limited, an offshoot of Juddmonte Farms, Rich Coast is out of the Sadler's Wells mare Costa Rica, a half-sister to Group winners Vortex and Danefair (dam of G1 juvenile Trade Fair).

Rich Coast becomes the tenth Stakes winner to be sired by King's Best out of mares by Sadler's Wells, most notably the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe winner Workforce, G1-winning miler and Darley stallion Creachadoir, Derby colt Best Alibi, and Group-winning Japanese performer Cosmo Meadow.
