New juvenile Stakes winner for Xaar

Broox runs out the impressive winner of the G3 Prix d'Arenberg in France to become his sire's second Group winner in three days

Just two days after Balthazaar's Gift swept to victory in the G2 Park Stakes, another son of Xaar - two-year-old colt Broox - opened his Black type account in fine style with a two-and-a-half length win in the five-and-a-half-furlong G3 Prix d'Arenberg at Maisons-Laffitte in France.

This was the third career victory for the Eoghan O'Neill-trained colt, who has won or been placed second in five of his six starts to date.

Bred by Canary Thoroughbreds, Broox is out of the winning Bishop Of Cashel mare Miss Brooks and is from the family of G1 July Cup winner Mr Brooks and Champion juvenile First Trump.

Xaar has now sired 11 individual Black type performers this year, five of whom have won at Stakes level. Overall he has now sired 11 Group winners and a further 16 horses that have won Listed contests.
