New Group winner for King’s Best

Meleagros remains unbeaten this year when winning the G3 Prix d’Hedouville at Longchamp

King's Best’s son Meleagros has been a solid campaigner for his sire for the past four years and on 6 May, he ensured his fifth season of racing remained successful as he took his second Black type race of 2015.

He won the G3 Prix d’Hedouville, run over 2400m at Longchamp, by two and a half lengths to take his total number of Stakes wins to four. He remains unbeaten this year, having won the Listed Prix de la Porte de Madrid at the end of March.

Bred in Ireland by Oak Hill Stud, Meleagros is one of seven winners out of the Stakes-placed Royal Academy mare Viola Royale, also dam of fellow Stakes winner St Andrews.

King’s Best, who stands at Darley in Japan at a fee of 2.5 million yen, is sire of eight G1 winners to date.
