King’s Best to stand at Darley in Japan in 2013

Leading sire of Japan Derby and Tenno Sho winner Eishin Flash to join Street Sense as an exciting new addition to the roster

Darley has announced that King's Best, Kingmambo’s best stallion son and also a leading sire in Europe, will stand at their stud in Japan in 2013.

Sire of no fewer than seven G1 winners to date, more than any other son of Kingmambo, including Workforce – the fastest ever winner of the Epsom Derby who went on to land the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe - King’s Best has also enjoyed tremendous success in Japan courtesy of his son Eishin Flash.

Winner of the Japan Derby at three, Eishin Flash recently recorded his second G1 victory when winning the valuable Tenno Sho in dominant style. Another King’s Best’s son Cosmo Meadow (from the same crop as Eishin Flash) has also made a great impression in Japan, winning the G3 Diamond Stakes in Tokyo before finishing second in the G2 Hanshin Daishoten.

From the world class family of Urban Sea, Galileo and Sea The Stars, and with a pedigree free of Halo, Kings Best will provide an excellent outcross for Sunday Silence mares.

Kenichiro Mishima, Darley’s President in Japan, said, “We are delighted to offer our clients in Japan the opportunity to breed to King’s Best. With seven G1 winners to his name already including dual Japanese G1 winner Eishin Flash, and being a Champion miler himself, he is a very exciting addition to Darley’s stallion roster in Japan.”

His covering fee will be set at a later date.
