King’s Best sires a new Stakes winner

Bernay triumphs in the Grand Prix de Bordeaux

King's Best sired a new Stakes winner on Saturday May 23, when his four-year-old son Bernay triumphed in the Listed Grand Prix de Bordeaux. Comfortably winning the race by one-and-a-half lengths, Bernay has now won four of his 11 starts.

Bred by G Rollain, Bernay is a half-brother to five other winners including the G3 winner Don’t Hurry Me. His dam, the unraced Bering mare Beringold, is a half-sister to three Stakes winners including the G1 performer Gold And Steel.

King’s Best, who is standing this current season at a fee of 2.5 million yen, is the sire of eight G1 winners including Derby and Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe hero Workforce and Japanese Derby winner Eishin Flash.
