Hard Enough too hard to beat in G3 Red Bank Stakes

Third Black type win for son of Hard Spun

After a tremendous April with two G1 winners, Hard Spun sired yet another Graded Stakes winner May 16 as Hard Enough won the G3 Red Bank Stakes at Monmouth. It was the third Black type win for the four-year-old colt, who won the Jersey Derby and Restoration Stakes back-to-back in 2013.

In the one-mile race Hard Enough settled in the clear in third position. Around the far turn he loomed three-wide to take over the lead and kept finding more in the stretch to easily secure the win.

Bred by Larry Johnson, Hard Enough is out of the Stakes-winning Mr Greeley mare Grecian Wings, who has also produced multiple Stakes-placed Allwewantforxmas.

With Hard Enough's win, Hard Spun notched his 11th Graded Stakes winner. His four G1 winners include last month's G1 Wood Memorial Stakes winner Wicked Strong and G1 Jenny Wiley Stakes victress Hard Not To Like. In addition, he is the sire of Eclipse Champion Questing and G1 Mother Goose Stakes-winning filly Zo Impressive.
