First winner for Rule Of Law

King Rocky opens his freshman sire's account at Himeji

Darley stallion Rule Of Law recorded his first winner and became the first of this year's freshmen to open his account on 25 May, when two-year-old colt King Rocky won the JRA-certified First Try race at Himeji Racecourse.

Having won his trial in excellent time, the Takao Kuroda-trained colt was sent off as favourite for the race and rewarded his supporters with a head victory, having outbattled Yukino Top Gun impressively close to home.

Bred by Mr. Toyomi Ogawa of Shin Hidaka Cho, King Rocky is out of Suzu Love Motion (Forty Niner).

Rule Of Law, who stands Darley Japan at a fee of 1 million yen, was himself a Stakes-winning juvenile who went on to win the G1 St Leger and finish second in the Epsom Derby at three.
