First Japanese-bred winner for Xaar

High Bridge Girl wins on debut at Monbetsu

Xaar's first Japanese-bred crop are two-year-olds this season and his first ever runner was a winner when his daughter High Bridge Girl struck at Monbetsu. Always on the pace in the 1000m contest, she went for home early in the straight and battled on gamely to record a three-quarters-of-a-length victory.

Bred by Takahashi Farm in Shizunai, she is out of the winning Fuji Kiseki mare Angel Crew and from the family of last month's Tenno Sho hero Hiruno d'Amour.

Xaar, who stands this season for one million yen, is the sire of 29 Stakes winners worldwide, including this years G1 Champions Mile scorer Xtension.
