Fantastic Light sires his 26th Black type winner

Livandar lands the Prix Lyphard at Deauville to become the latest Stakes winner for his sire

Darley Japan stallion Fantastic Light has been a consistent source of Black type performers – siring no fewer than ten this year alone - and on 8 December his son Livandar became his sire’s 26th individual Stakes winner when taking the Prix Lyphard at Deauville.

Winning the 1900m contest by a head from Le Roi Mage, Livander recorded his seventh career victory and his third this year.

Livandar is out of the winning Caerleon mare Luna Caerla, also dam of King’s Best’s multiple Stakes winner King Luna and G3 winner Luna Kya. Luna Caerla is herself a half-sister to multiple G1 winner and leading sire in France, Linamix.

Fantastic Light has now sired five individual Black type performers in 2010, including the G2-winning G1-placed Brilliant Light, plus multiple G3 winner Tottie.
