Carnegie quinella in the Chipping Norton

Mighty mare Tuesday Joy lands fourth Group One win and leads home Vision And Power at Randwick; Lohnro, Commands, Strategic and Quest For Fame all sire Group place-getters

Carnegie's outstanding daughter Tuesday Joy (pictured) landed her fourth Group One victory on Saturday at Randwick in the Chipping Norton Stakes, with her paternal half-brother Vision And Power chasing her home for second.

Never too far off the pace in the 1600m contest, her stamina kicked in over 100m out and she won going away by three-quarters of a length. In 23 starts, she has now recorded seven wins and reaped more than $3 million in prize-money. Dubai now beckons with a tilt at the Dubai Duty Free on World Cup night her likely target.

Bred by her owner John Singleton of Strawberry Hill Stud, Tuesday Joy is out of the Danehill mare Joie Denise,, winner of the Queensland Oaks and a half-sister to G1 winner Sunday Joy.

Back in second was the gallant Vision And Power, who recorded a career best effort. Coming off the back of a Listed success at Rosehill, the G J Chittick-bred gelding who is a half-brother to G1 scorer Glamour Puss, will now likely remain in top company by taking in the G1 Ranvet Stakes on 21 March.

Other performances of note at Randwick included, Purdey, a juvenile by Lohnro, running second in the G3 Kindergarten Stakes. Making only his second start after finishing fourth on debut, the Woodlands Stud bred is out of the Listed-winning mare Walnut, who also has a full-brother yearling to Purdey and a foal by fellow Darley stallion Ad Valorem.

Later on the card in the G3 Liverpool City Cup, the Commands gelding El Cambio finished second behind Judged. Already a five-time Group winner, he was also bred by Woodlands Stud and is a half-brother to the three group placers, Cataclysm, Frasassasand Negev.

Over at Flemington, another notable performances came from Aichi, a three-year-old colt by Strategic, who was third in the G1 Newmarket Handicap. Bred by Woodlands Stud, he is out of the winning Quest For Fame mare Nagoya, who also has a foal by Commands. In a ten-race career, he has only ever been unplaced once and his victories have included the G3 Danehill Stakes.

On the same card, three-year-old Quest For Fame filly Lamarr ran third in the G2 Kewney Stakes. She has made a promising transition into Stakes company, placing on her last two starts. Bred in NSW by Mr G Harvey, she is out of Danehill mare Lupenta, a granddaughter of G1 scorer Midnight Fever.
