Admire Moon’s second crop continue to impress

Three juvenile winners in one weekend for the young Darley sire

Admire Moon’s first crop hit the racecourse last year and could not have made a better start, with no fewer than 15 of them becoming winners. His second crop are now racing and seem to be following in their older sibling’s footsteps.

At the weekend, Admire Moon recorded an impressive two-year-old treble, taking his number of second-crop winners to seven.

Yoshikawakun kicked off her sire’s winning streak, taking the 1200m maiden at Niigata. Bred by Kazuyuki Nakawaki, the filly is out of the G3-placed Danehill mare Chocot and is from the family of Irish Derby winner Law Society.

On the same day, Lord Clavius won on his racecourse debut, landing the 1700m maiden at Sapporo by a length.

Darley homebred Prefontaine then completed the treble, showing a good attitude to win over 1600m at Niigata.

Admire Moon is also sire this year of Stakes-winning two-year-old At Will, plus the Listed-winning, G2-placed colt Sacred Reve.
