Thrilling victory for Princess Moon

Daughter of Admire Moon lands the Shumpu Stakes at Niigata

Admire Moon’s daughter Princess Moon has shown a liking for Niigata’s 1000m turf course and on Saturday 7 May she recorded her second Open class victory over that course and distance. The winner of the Bakushin Tokubetsu last season, she wasn’t hard pressed to win the Shumpu Stakes by a length-and-a-quarter, taking her career earnings to nearly 80,000,000 Yen.

Bred by Mishima Bokujo, she is a daughter of the Italian Champion two-year-old filly Scoubidou, winner of the G3 Premio Dormello. The dam of four winners, Scoubidou has already produced the three-time JRA winner and Stakes-placed Meisho Meigetsu.

Admire Moon reached his highest ever sire ranking in 2015, with his Stakes winners and Group horses featuring three-year-olds Fumino Moon and Moon Express. He stands this season at a fee of 2 million yen.
