First foals for Deep Sky

When Deep Sky retired to Darley he attracted an impressive line-up of mares in his first book and now some of the foals from those matings are on the ground and earning praise from breeders.
Among his debutants is a chesnut filly out of multiple Group One winner Sweep Tosho, the only filly ever to win the Takarazuka Kinen. Another chesnut filly was born to Charity Quest, a stakes-placed daughter of Coronado's Quest and a half-sister to French Group Three winner Charity Belle.
Reserve Seat, the dam of G3 Mermaid Stakes winner Solid Platinum, foaled a substantial chesnut colt by Deep Sky on 17 February, while Blixen, a stakes-placed mare by Gone West out of the Group One winner Danish, produced one of the earliest arrivals, a bay colt on 18 January.
There are also fillies from Group Three winner Asahi Rising, by Royal Touch, and Aussie Company, from the highly successful family of Group One winners, which includes Bubble Gum Fellow, That's The Plenty and Shonan Peintre, plus top sire Candy Stripes.
Shane Horan, Director of Stallions and Bloodstock for Darley Japan, commented: "Deep Sky's first foals have impressed me greatly. They look like their sire in so far as they are big and athletic looking with good bone and great conformation. "The majority are chesnut with some white markings and possess kind temperaments. Seeing so many good foals with such good conformation is a very promising start to Deep Sky's stud career. We could not be happier with his first foals."
